Suggested texts: Wormald, Court, Kirk, and Community: Scotland, 1470-1625 and Lang, John Knox and the Reformation

Course Requirements:

Test: Students will take an essay exam on the date listed below. It will count 35% toward the final grade.

Journal: While in the UK, students are expected to keep a journal of their experiences that highlight the things that they found particularly fascinating about the country and its people, unexpected surprises, ways (both great and small) that were unique or different about the UK, and those things that were found to be disturbing.  This will be submitted on the morning that we leave for home. This will count for 20% of the grade.

Paper: During the months of May and June, students are to read the book by Todd listed above.  Having read that book, I want you to answer the question: Did the Reformation in Scotland achieve what was hoped; where did it succeed/fail; what do you think of the final outcome?  The paper is to be typed and make use of exquisite English.  It will be due by June 15, sent to me by email.  The paper will be failed if it is late, and it will count 30% toward the final grade.
