The dissertation analyzes Andean-based Peruvian
narrative fiction published since
1980 from literary, sociological and historical
perspectives. Analyzing works by
eighteen writers, it examines their
interpretations of the revolutionary potential of
the Indian, and the treatment of political
violence and relations of power in relation
to the indigenous peoples and the guerrilla
war.
