This list is not intended to be comprehensive. It simply contains sites that I have found to be useful or interesting, and that are not already linked from my individual city pages and system-type pages.

• American Public Transportation Association (their links section lists the official Web sites of most transit systems in the U.S.)
• New US Urban Rail Lines Since 1980, by Leroy W. Demery, Jr. (opening/closing dates and lengths of individual segments, some pre-1980 historical data, and ridership statistics)

• The National Corridors Initiative, with a weekly newsletter on rail and transit-related events.
• The New New Electric Railway Journal (no, that's not a typo!) from the Free Congress Foundation

• Robert Schwandl's UrbanRail.net (formerly MetroPlanet), focusing on "metro" systems (mostly heavy-rail rapid transit)
• Robert Reynolds's Subway Page
• Peter's Pix by Peter Ehrlich (milantram): various cities in the U.S. and abroad.
• Dave's Electric Railroads (by Dave Mewhinney): various interurban and urban railroads from the 1950s onward.
• Jerry's Railroad Photo Album (by Jerry Appleman), with a nice selection of electric transit pictures from the 1960s.
• Roger DuPuis's Trams Stop Here! with pictures from Pittsburgh, Boston, Newark, etc.

• Allen Morrison's Electric Transport in Latin America
• Unofficial Web site about the Pyongyang [North Korea] Metro. The material from the official guidebook is priceless!

A Commercial Site

• Carson Home Video specializes in transit videos. Most feature U.S. systems, but some feature European and Japanese systems also. I've been pleased with the ones I've bought so far. This site also has some nice pictures.
