Atlanta MARTA Rail System

Description

Atlanta's rapid transit system is operated by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). It currently consists of four lines:

The Northeast/South line, Doraville to Airport, 22.3 miles
The North/South line, North Springs to Airport, 24.1 miles
The East/West line, Indian Creek to Hamilton E. Holmes, 15.0 miles
The Proctor Creek line, King Memorial to Bankhead, 4.0 miles

All lines meet at Five Points in central Atlanta. The Northeast/South and North/South lines share tracks from Airport to Lindbergh Center, after which they diverge. The East/West and Proctor Creek lines share tracks from King Memorial to Ashby, where they diverge. The total track length of the system is therefore about 48 miles.
