Augusta TV Stations

I can't receive any Augusta stations very well, even though they're about the same distance away as Charlotte and Greenville stations that I do receive reliably. It looks like their transmitter towers aren't as high, and the general ground level rises more in between them and me, because of their location near the Savannah River.

Before the analog shutdown in 2009, I received WRDW more often than WJBF and WAGT, because there were analog signals from Charlotte that used the same channels as the digital signals of WJBF (chanel 42) and WAGT (30). Now it's the other way around, because the analog signals are gone, and WRDW changed its digital channel from 31 (UHF) to 12 (VHF). Switching to VHF should have made for better propagation, but it doesn't work well for me in this case, perhaps because the new signal doesn't have enough power. I now see WRDW only very rarely.

WCES is a special case because it's the only digital station in this region that uses the low-VHF band (channel 6), as far as I know, and my VHF antenna is designed for channels 7-13. So I can't receive it under normal conditions. Nevertheless, in the morning of 10 October 2009, unusually good propagation from the west allowed me to watch WCES briefly, along with several stations further away in Atlanta.
