In addition to the John Bean's Engaging Ideas, several other new books about writing in the disciplines are now in the Presbyterian College library.

*Teaching With Writing by Toby Fulwiler, a pioneer in writing-across-the-curriculum, gives a workshop-in-a-book with ideas on student journals, teaching the process approach to writing, revising, editing, research writing, and using groups for peer review and oral presentations. The book includes classroom handouts on subjects such as revision.

*The Bedford Guide to Teaching Writing the Disciplines by Rebecca Moore Howard and Sandra Jamieson, an instructor's desk reference, has chapters on the syllabus, designing writing assignments, research papers, essay exams, collaboration, and grading student writing. The book includes many sample assignments in a variety of disciplines.
