Writing Article Reviews

1. Choose your Article.
Pick a substantial article from a current New York Times, archived New York Times or professional journal. Attach the article (or a copy) that you have chosen to the end of your review.

2. Read
Read the article to understand the overall theme and again to understand the details.

3. Content of the Review
A summary of the author's main ideas and the article's essential contents
Inclusion of all significant points
Your reaction to the ideas
Your overall opinion/assessment of the ideas: positive, negative or mixed. Find reasons backed by evidence (examples) to support your opinion.

3. Organization
At the top of the first page of your review include the article's bibliographic information
Your review
Attach article

4. Format
The final paper should be typed, double-spaced.
Number all pages except the first page.
Proofread your final copy. Be sure to correct errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
