The Robbie Page Memorial (RPM) was established in 1951 following the death of Robbie Page, the son of Tri Sigma's fourth National President, Mary Hastings Holloway Page. His tragic death occurred at a time when there was no cure or preventative for polio. This prompted Mary and her husband Rob to establish a memorial fund for polio research. Tri Sigma decided to help their National President by launching the Robbie Page Memorial fund, and in 1954, Tri Sigma adopted RPM as their National Philanthropy, beginning Sigma's long range programming in support of recreational therapy for hospitalized children. At the 1974 National Convention, the sailboat became the official symbol of Sigma Sigma Sigma and the Robbie Page Memorial. Tri Sigmas have a sincere interest in service to others and an earnest desire to help. For forty years, Sigmas have served children through the Robbie Page Memorial. Because of Robbie Page, an important and lasting contribution has been made to children everywhere. Sigmas can find their reward in knowing that their efforts make children smile. Tri Sigma sponsors two children's wings in the hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas. Here at Presbyterian College, the Epsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma travels to Chapel Hill each spring to deliver crafts made during recruitment and to visit the children.
