-10/16/02 With Homecoming just around the corner, brothers are busily preparing for and looking forward to the return of many alumni. Casino night will be Friday, October 25th. Saturday, the 26th will begin with a tailgate at the chapter house, followed by the football game at 2:00 PM and a band party that evening. We hope to see you there. Beta Pi is also contemplating the addition of a link on our website allowing for credit/debit card donations to the chapter for general funds, MDA, etc., through PayPal. So, be looking for that link soon. - 9/27/02 After nearly a month of school, Beta Pi brothers have become quite busy in the classroom and the chapter. With Rush just around the corner, the fall months are highly important. After recieving a Samuel Zenas Ammen award at the National Leadership Institute (NLI) from the KA national office for being one of the nation's top chapters, Beta Pi has already begun to continue on the path of excellence by actively meeting potential rushees, holding regular can-drives for MDA, and hosting numerous brotherhood events at the chapter house. Indeed, Beta Pi has begun the year on the right foot. Homecoming is October 25-26. Presbyterian College is planning one of the largest Homecoming events in school history, with the closing of the old Bailey Stadium, the opening of a new Bailey Stadium, the city of Clinton's Bicentennial, and a large scale fundraising effort to remodel Richardson Hall (the science building). Beta Pi also plans to make this one of the best Homecomings ever for our alumni. On the night of the 25th, Beta Pi will host an alumni Casino night. Then on the 26th, brothers, alumni, dates, and parents will tailgate at the chapter house before the 2:00 PM football game. That night, the chapter will host a live band at the house. If you are interested in participating in Casino night, please contact Beta Pi's historian (V), Jeff Manning, at 864-833-8529. We look forward to the return of many alumni. - 7/12/02 Please forgive our tardiness in updating this web-page. Beta Pi Brothers and pledges are enjoying a long summer and will return to campus by Labor Day for the Fall semester. Should you need to contact the chapter, you can email the Corresponding Secretary (IV), Ryan Jennings, at rdjennin@presby.edu. Plans for Summer Rush are in the works. Tentatively, the event is scheduled for the last weekend of July. Check back for further details or email the chapter. The Kappa Alpha Order's annual National Leadership Institute will be held August 8-10, 2002. Brothers Kaneft and Huntley will be in attendance. Also in August, Beta Pi's Executive Council will convene for a long weekend of arduous planning and scheduling for the approaching school year. The Beta Pi Golf Classic for MDA on April 20th, 2002 was a success - raising $1500 in donations. Thank you for your contributions. Beta Pi's fundraising efforts for MDA over the past year totalled more than $3000.

- 04/25/01 - We're proud to have accepted a selective invitation from KA Nationals' to join the Crusade Program. To put in short, the program focuses on taking the four years of college life and getting the most out of them, helping strengthen leadership and growth opportunities in and out of college thus adding to the already solid establishment of KA at Presbyterian. Wofford College and University of South Carolina are currently the only other Crusade Chapters in the Graves Province (South Carolina). The chapter has recently held a Muscular Dystrophy "Lock Up", where named persons have been put in a fake jail to raise money from friends and family, to achieve our goal of $3000 on the year, increased from last years $200. Thanks to Brothers French, Marshall, Jennings, and Trail for their help. The 2001 school year is over, best of luck to all of the seniors in the real world; many thanks from the chapter for your brotherhood and loyalty in creating a hell of a place to be. Last week Beta Pi participated in the annual Order of Omega Greek Awards Banquet. We placed first overall for the second straight year in obtaining the President's Cup. Individually, Brother Thoresen was voted Greek Man of the Year, and Brother Culler Scholar of the Year. In other news, Robbie Timms has recently been voted Graves Province Undergraduate Chairman.
