Washington, DC:
Virginia Railway Express

Description

In 1992, Virginia Railway Express (VRE) began to operate commuter rail service between Washington Union Station and northern Virginia. There are two routes:

All service on the Fredericksburg Line is targeted to traditional commuters: inbound to Washington in the morning, and outbound to Fredericksburg in the afternoon and early evening. The Manassas line also has a few "reverse trips" during commute hours, and one round trip at mid-day.
